Welcome from the headmaster

Welcome!

I am delighted to be the new Headmaster at Covenant and am eager to lead our school along the path of Christ-centered classical education. It is my privilege to continue building upon the strong foundation laid by my predecessors, beginning with Dr. Chris Perrin and, more recently, Joe Sanelli. Their careful labors, along with those of many others, are a great gift and I am excited to see how God leads us from here. Whether you are already a committed member of our community, or a newcomer intrigued by our distinctive approach, I hope we can begin a conversation leading to friendship and truth. If you would like to learn more about my family and background, please read my Letter to the CCA Community.

My hope for Covenant is that we will cultivate lovers of truth, goodness, and beauty who seek to exalt Christ above all else. We train our students to diligently discipline their hearts and minds so they can delight in the wisdom of God. Our graduates will leave us, we pray, sufficiently prepared to pursue their unique callings, and to one day engage the world as Christian artists, poets, scientists, athletes, homemakers, statesmen, and business leaders.

Covenant was started in 1997, and since that time has grown from 20 to well over 200 students in grades K-12. The record of our graduates is remarkable, as they maintain the highest SAT scores of all the high schools in the Harrisburg area and regularly attend competitive colleges, often with generous scholarships. Much more important to us, however, is that they grow toward moral and spiritual maturity. We strive to cultivate an environment where virtues of humility, love, diligence, temperance and industry spring forth. These qualities make Covenant students not just academics, but academic disciples.

The best way to discover our Christ-centered and classical approach is to visit the school and talk with our teachers and administrators. Please contact our office (717-540-9885) if you would like to make an appointment to meet with us.

In Christ,

David Sonju, Ph.D.
